Derby hand lifetime ban to Rams fan who mocked death of Billy Sharp's son

Derby have handed a lifetime ban to a supporter who mocked the death of Billy Sharp's son.
The fan was tracked down and interviewed by Rams officials after he quote-tweeted Championship club Derby at the weekend with abusive jibes aimed at Sheffield United striker Sharp, who lost son Luey Jacob just days after he was born in 2011.
Sharp opened the scoring for the Blades after five minutes and added his second goal in stoppage time as United beat Derby 3-1 on Saturday.
A statement from Derby, who named the supporter as Jordan Byrne, said: "Byrne admitted that he was responsible for the posts which were published after Saturday's game at Bramall Lane.
"While he apologised for his actions, Derby County stand firm that behaviour of this nature is entirely unacceptable and requires strong action.
"Consequently, the club has imposed a lifetime ban on this individual which prevents him attending any Derby County games -- home and away -- with immediate effect.
"Derby County condemns all forms of abuse and will act quickly to punish anybody who is responsible for this type of grossly offensive behaviour.''
